Why not to move to Finland? Finland is not the happiest country in the world.

There are pros and cons in anything so in this article we are looking through some negative sides of moving to Finland. So you may decide move to Finland or not.

Climate. Weather in Finland is very different but it could be cold for many people, especially if you come from tropical climate adaptation could be very hard. Western Finland (Turku, Oulu, Pori) and Helsinki is very humid, windy and rainy. Winter is clumsy and cold as well as summer. Here people have just several sunny weeks in July or August and highest temperature in summer is +25 C° usually, winter is not very cold it usually doesn't get colder than -15 C°. Western and central parts (Jyväskylä, Tampere, Joensuu, Kouvola) are more comfortable, because climate here is softer, but summers are still cold up to +20 C° and winters are very cold up to -30 C° nevertheless it is less humid, less rainy here and weather is more predictable. Northern part (Rovaniemi, Ivalo, Inari) is extremely cold and also famous for polar nights and days long as 6 moths. It is also hard to live there because of extreme temperatures up to -45 C° in winter and storms. Check our Finnish regions guide here.

Language. Finnish is hard to study for non-finnish-ugric language speakers and it is hard to find friends without speaking Finnish. As well as there is a big gap between book Finnish and spoken Finnish, we have 12 different dialects as well as local languages (Swedish, Sami, Karjala) and sometimes some dialect speakers should speak book Finnish or even use English to understand each other. If you are not good with speaking Finnish we are ready to help you in our school, because our classes teach you not only book language but also local dialects and speaking language as well as Finnish culture and traditions. Prices. Finland is expensive even for Finns so here all food, goods and services are excellent quality but the price is reasonable. As well you may see that Finnish taxes are high but they are so to compensate excellent school education, free university access, safety and good happy life for everyone in harmony and equality. The lowest salaries in Finland start from €1500 without tax, but tax for low salaries is lower as well as if you have a family government could provide you with help such as scholarships or food cards if you are Finnish citizen or resident eligible for help services. If you decide to move to Finland with a heart and big love for a country and culture you will not notice these negative sides. Bad weather can also be very beautiful in Finland. Finnish language is a superpower like Superman has his laser eyes. Prices change and money is not the most valuable recourse, because YOU are the one who makes dreams come true!
